Now that it’s settling in that Dave and Christine have moved on from their ministries with us, it’s time for us to meet the challenge going forward. Although summer is usually a quiet time for our faith community, there will actually be much going on behind the scenes.
As you know by now Lisa Humphreys and I have met with both Bishop Laura Ahrens and Rev. Lee Ann Tolzmann, the Canon for Mission Leadership, at the Commons in Meriden. In addition, Rev. Tolzmann came and met with the Vestry in May. The Bishop has decided for a variety of reasons that our transitional path will include a Provisional Priest in Charge to lead us for up to the next three years, and the Diocese is searching for this person for us as I write to you. Once the Bishop feels that she has the right person for us, the Vestry will have the opportunity to vote whether to accept the Bishop’s choice, or to look for another choice.
Please feel free to reach out to myself or Lisa with any questions and concerns, or for that matter, any Vestry member.
In the meantime, enjoy your summer, and know that it will continue to be business as usual at Christ Church. This includes Summer Services on Sunday at 9:15 with supply priest in place through September.
