IMPORTANT UPDATE ON SUNDAY SERVICES

Dear Friends,

After consultation with our Bishops and your Wardens and vestry members, I have come to the difficult decision to cancel in-person worship services tomorrow morning.  I know in this anxious time it is helpful to feel together as a community and because of this several people and I are working on a way which will enable us to have an online service of morning prayer with sermon tomorrow morning at 10 am.  I don’t promise elegance but it is important for us to find new ways to be together in rapidly shifting circumstances.

In the meantime, we’re working on ways to hold our Monday morning and Tuesday evening classes on-line and looking for additional ways for us to stay connected.  We are also looking ways to provide on-line support for Rite 13 and J2A participants.

Your vestry and I are concerned about food-insecurity which will be faced by children and others who will be impacted by school closings and looking for ways to continue providing Pomfret Power Paks and other assistance as it becomes necessary.  If you would be available to help with this, please let me or your vestry know.  More information will be provided when we have a plan.

If you live alone and would like us to check in on you, or need assistance getting groceries or medications, please let me know.  Several people have offered to provide this assistance.

Although the office will be closed, I am available by phone, email or Facebook and will be checking the church answering machine as well.  For those who would like to spend time in the Sanctuary, our doors will be opened during scheduled periods of time (tbd).

Blessings and Peace,
Alon+

Rite I SERVICE at 8 a.m.

This service is the more traditional and formal service with musical pieces once a month (on Contemporary Music Sundays) from Sept-June.

Family Eucharist SERVICE at 10:15 a.m.

While it is traditional it’s not as formal and the children help to liven things up from Sept-June. There is Nursery care during this service and the Church School and Teen Programs meet during some of the service time, joining us for the Eucharist portion.

Contemporary Music SERVICE at 10:15 a.m.

This service is usually once a month (3rd Sundays mostly) with the band Nine6teen that does all the musical numbers with the congregation joining in as well. There is Nursery care for these Sundays and Church School and Teen Programs still meet as well, but will on occasion join us for the whole worship service.

Summer SERVICE at 9:15 a.m.

Our summer service is only one time and that is at 9:15 a.m.. There is no Church School or Contemporary Music Sunday during the time of July to Labor Day Weekend Sunday with Nursery care on a volunteer basis.
